Nancy Parker,

BA

Nancy has over thirty years experience working in the non-profit and charitable sector most in post-secondary education where her roles included student recruitment, alumni relations, fundraising, capital campaign administration, human resources, budgeting, policy development and project management.  In 2016 Nancy started her company, Parker Fundraising Strategies where she’s helped to strengthen non-profits locally and nationally through strategic planning facilitation, administrative audits, capital campaign management and administration and various other activities. Nancy was also a college instructor teaching a variety of courses in tourism, public relations and group sales.  She is a workshop presenter locally and nationally on various fundraising topics and is a published author as one of thirty contributors to Canada’s only prospect research for fundraisers textbook.  Nancy began her relationship with BYCOC in 2019 as a volunteer assisting in grant writing and fundraising.  Nancy is an avid camper and lover of the outdoors.  In her youth she was camp counsellor with the YMCA, a girl guide and leader for many years, and a participant in the Katimavik youth program. As a result, she is strong believer in leadership and outdoor opportunities for children and youth.  Nancy has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Waterloo and a three year business administration diploma in convention management from Fleming College. Nancy is committed to volunteer work.  She is the past president of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP), Windsor Essex Chapter, member of the scholarship committee for CAGP nationally, former vice-president of the YWCA Peterborough Northumberland, and has volunteered with Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, Association of Fundraising Professionals – Southwestern Canada chapter, United Way Windsor Essex, and currently is a board member with the Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators as well as a founding member of 100 Women Windsor Essex.
