Every dinner and auction item sold for this evening will help us “Make Bryerswood Even Better“.  The proceeds will be used to make upgrades and renovations to the Activity Centre. \n\n\n\nTo turn this building into a comfortable venue that can be used year-round\, we need to start by adding a proper ceiling\, lighting and insulation. DESCRIPTION:It’s going to be a once-in-a-lifetime Solar Spectacle!! \n\n\n\nLooking for somewhere wide open in the county to experience this incredible Total Solar Eclipse on April 8th? Well\, bring yourself and the kids to this free and fun event located at GL Heritage Brewing Company and co-hosted by neighbouring Bryerswood Youth Camp! \n\n\n\nOn the 99.9% path of totality\, we will be open from 12-6pm on Monday\, April 8th to host a fun and interactive\, family-friendly viewing party on the expansive grassed grounds of the brewery. Feel free to bring your lawn chairs or blankets to settle in for this unique event. \n\n\n\nAmherstburg’s Nat’s Wraps & Apps Food Truck will be on site all afternoon serving up a great menu for purchase\, solar glasses will be available for just $3 each (while supplies last)\, and yes\, the brewery will be open to offer beer\, seltzer\, pop\, water and juice for purchase. \n\n\n\nBryerswood Youth Camp Volunteer Coordinators will be setting up various free interactive games\, cooperative activities\, crafts\, including the chance to make eclipse models\, throughout the afternoon. \n\n\n\nWe will also have a retired educator on microphone intermittently to share the status of\, and science behind\, what’s occurring up in the sky and it’s impact to us and nature here on earth. \n\n\n\nA new local radio station in Essex County\, CKRT Border City Radio\, will be set up and interviewing guests while broadcasting live on site. \n\n\n\nSo\, join us by reserving your free spot for the afternoon and be sure to select if you need us to reserve solar glasses for you or your crew! \n\n\n\nNOTES: \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nReserve your Free spot: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/free-total-solar-eclipse-viewing-party-at-gl-heritage-brewery-tickets-870568021387?aff=oddtdtcreator\n\n\n\nGL Heritage Brewery is pet-friendly\, however\, you must maintain pets on a leash at all times\, and clean up after them. Prep your sled to explore the Arctic\, feel the sand between your toes in the desert\, then fall back into the past. Get ready to explore the far corners of our world. What will we discover? \n\n\n\nMONDAY: $35 – Travel to the Desert: Slather on your sunscreen and you are going to need a hat. We are going to hunt for fossils and maybe find some dinosaurs. \n\n\n\nTUESDAY: $35 – Blast into Outer Space: Channel your inner astronaut by building your own rocket! You will explore the solar system and our galaxies and have a sweet treat with Marshmallow constellations. \n\n\n\nWEDNESDAY: $35 – Dive into the Ocean: Put on your swimmies and be a shark while experimenting with salt water science and learning how to speak fish with eco-location. No life jacket required! \n\n\n\nTHURSDAY: $35 – Sled into the Arctic: Did you know a group of penguins is called a Waddle and you can make an igloo out of sugar cubes\, and that polar bears really aren’t white? Work together as a team to build your own sled. We will hold our own Bryerswood Iditarod races. \n\n\n\nFRIDAY: $45 – Field Trip: Location to be announced. Fee is an additional $10 = $45 for the day. Please use March Break Extraordinary Explorers Friday Program in Camp Registration to register for this day.
